An invitation to know, explore, learn

The Serre Regional Natural Park launches a new initiative dedicated to the world of schools, with the aim of strengthening the ecological culture of the younger generations and offering educational experiences immersed in nature.
“At School in the Park” is born, an environmental education project that provides 68,000 euros to co-finance educational trips, educational outings and training courses within the protected area.

At a time when the relationship between students and the environment is in danger of becoming increasingly mediated by screens, the Park chooses the opposite path. It proposes a direct, living, concrete contact. A place where children can return to walk among centuries-old forests, observe biodiversity, recognize the value of water, and discover that nature is not an abstract concept but a daily responsibility.

The initiative is part of the regional program “Tourism Week in the Calabrian Parks,” promoted by the Tourism Department of the Calabria Region to boost mountain school tourism and enhance the Parks as true open-air educational laboratories.

What the project offers

  • Co-funding for educational activities carried out in the park
  • Guided tours, workshops, excursions and experiential trails
  • Opportunities for schools of all levels
  • Collaboration with official guides, environmental experts and visitor centers

Why join

Because learning in the Park means educating about respect, awareness and the future. It means training students who do not observe nature from the outside, but experience and understand it.
And it means, above all, letting the youngest discover a heritage that belongs to them as much as to adults.
