Shirin Yoku
The forest that heals
Forest bathing-or shinrin-yoku-is a conscious immersion experience in the forest. It is not sport, it is not hiking. It is a gentle practice accessible to all that stimulates the senses, reduces stress and promotes mental and physical well-being.
In the heart of Calabria, among silent valleys and peaks embroidered with beech and fir trees, lies the Serre Regional Nature Park. In this sacred corner of unspoiled nature lies the Archiforo Forest, selected by Prof. Qing Li, father of forest bathing, among the 40 forest wonders of the world.
Projects
Operation Italic Deer
The loss of a species must be perceived by the human community as a mourning, to avoid it we have a duty to intervene by halting extinction, biodiversity is the sap through which our planet lives and is nourished, so we have a duty to defend it and deliver it to future generations in the same condition in which it was given to us. This is the main reason that prompted the Serre Regional Park, and the Calabria region to participate in the national program to save the italic deer.
Educating the environment
Project promoted by the Serre Park involving educational institutions, educators and citizens of the three Calabrian provinces that are part of the vast Serre area. The aim of the project is to make people discover the uniqueness of an environmental area of absolute value, with truly unique climatic, anthropic and natural characteristics, and to transmit, by expanding knowledge of the places, to future generations the concept of “active protection” know, respect, defend. On these assumptions, the idea of “EDUCANDO” was born: to bring the Park to schools through its experts; to bring schools to the Park so that they may experience it, appreciate its beauty and uniqueness and make it their own, defending it.
